Degausser Rental in India
Rent a Proton degausser by the day or week for a project, an audit, a refresh programme or a peak quarter. Delivered, demonstrated, collected — with an engineer-operated option that includes a signed register.
Typical uses
When renting makes sense
Data centre refresh
A weekend or a fortnight where you retire several hundred drives and cannot justify a capital purchase for a one-time event.
Audit preparation
An audit finding requires evidence of destruction by a date, and a purchase cycle will not close in time.
Project-based ITAD work
A sub-contracted destruction project where the machine is needed for the duration of the job only.
Peak quarter
Your existing machine is down for service and volume has not dropped.
Rental models
| Model | What you get | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Self-operated rental | Machine delivered and demonstrated; your trained staff operate it; we collect at the end. Cheapest option. | In-house IT team that already knows how to run a degausser |
| Engineer-operated rental | Our engineer runs the machine at your site and produces a signed destruction register. | Audit evidence, client-witnessed runs, first-time operators |
| Project destruction | Rental plus collection, destruction, reconciliation and disposal — the full service. | Where you do not want to handle media at all |
What to think about before renting
- Will your auditor accept a rented machine? This is the question to ask first. A rented machine can destroy the data perfectly well, but you do not control its maintenance history or its field verification. For a one-off, that is usually fine. For a continuing compliance record, it may not be.
- Do you have trained operators? If not, take the engineer-operated option. Operating a degausser badly wastes the rental and produces incomplete records.
- What is your real volume? A T-1.2 handles about 1,400 drives in a full 8-hour shift. A weekend rental covers a lot more than most people expect.
- Do you need flash destruction too? Rent the PDS-88 alongside, or take the project service.
- Power and environment. A standard 230 V socket and a reasonably dry, ventilated working area. Nothing exotic.
Indicative rental economics
We quote per day or per week with delivery and collection in the city included, and travel charged for outstation hire. Rather than publish a figure that will be wrong for your specific dates, we will quote it properly the same day you ask. Two practical rules of thumb:
- Break-even is usually reached in the second or third hire. If you expect more than two jobs in a year, buying is normally cheaper — the price page sets out the comparison.
- Engineer-operated runs cost more per drive but include the register. If the register is what you need, that is usually worth it.
